Description of Work: The purpose of this position is to support the business and financial affairs of the Davie County Health and Human Services Agency. Responsibilities include facilitation and management of financial resources that may be federally or state appropriated, contracts, grants, invoice and receipt processing, vendor management, limited human resources functions, and internal and external customer service. This position performs a range of financial and business related duties including accounting, budgeting, auditing, and/or grants administration. Functions may include financial management, payroll, purchasing, inventory control, and support desk ticket management. Weekly working hours: 37.5 hours per week. Usual time is Monday Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with one hour for lunch. In emergencies, could be called upon to work after hours, including nights, weekends and/or holidays. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
Recruitment Standards: General knowledge of office management techniques and ability to practice effective communication techniques both orally and in writing. Ability to analyze and interpret policy and procedural guidelines and to resolve problems and questions. Skill in organizing work flow and coordinating activities.
Education and Experience: Completion of a four-year program in a college or university preferably with major emphasis on coursework in business administration, public administration, or other related field; or completion of a two-year business administration program and two years of progressively responsible clerical/administrative, office management experience; or completion of high school or equivalent and four years of progressively responsible clerical/administrative/office management experience; or an
equivalent combination of training and experience.
Emergency Shelter Operations: The individual in this position has responsibilities for staffing and providing assistance when public health or emergency shelter plans are implemented.
